Make this setup better...

So I want a really high end desktop. I've been digging around on newegg for a couple days and here's what I've come up with. Price isn't really to much of an issue, so how can I make this better (but not ridiculously expensive)? I'd say keep it around $1500.

Would it be worth it to upgrade the memory to DDR3? That would require a whole new motherboard though, and it took me long enough to pick out that one. So basically, is this a good setup or can I increase the speed by replacing a few parts?

No, don't include the monitor in that $1500. And that's what I thought about DDR3...it'll be a while before it's worth it.
 
DDR3 is not worth at the moment.
If you can wait, may be wait until next year for the new CPUs which need new socket to go with DDR3.
 
2GB Will See Excellent Performance so i recommend keeping it at that as long as it is Matched.

What are you planning to do atm with this machine?

It would be an Excellent Gaming Machine.

What about Power Supply.

You will need at least a 650 - 700W Power supply to run all that so far.

Case, Have you selected a case you have your eyes on?

Never know, its always gotta look good :D

Gigabyte is a excellent motherboard company.

Probably not 700w, a cosair hx-620 would do the trick there, if only using one graphics card.

I learnt the hard way that you cant have too much power.

I always get Higher Watts that i need.

That way, you can always Upgrade if you wanted something better/power hungry in the future

You know that it's more important to have a high ampere rating on the 12v rails, rather than watts. :) I reckon you could power that system off a cosair hx-520, so the hx-620 is more than sufficient. ;)

Never worked with a Corsair PSU, ive always used TT's

(Thermal Takes)

They are always reliable.
