Hard Drive Not Found???

It's a Dell Dimension 8400.

160gb SATA HD

In the setup screen it's showing the floppy and cd/dvd.

However, it's showing (not present) on the SATA and any IDE

Thoughts? I'm confused? I'm reformatting this for my brother and all connections look right so I'm confused.

Is the computer running xp or vista? If xp, you may have to install sata drivers as the computer may not natively support sata.
 
Do you know about Jumpers? (technically called Shunts)

You must have 1 master, One Slave, otherwise they will Shadow Each Other out.

Wait, your running One IDE And One Sata??
 
I swear, whenever i post, i always check for replys every 10 minutes where i can.

This have been 13 hours with no reply from Poster.
 
lol maybe its not that pressing of an issue for him... maybe he's at work (then again i'm on here all day every day at work lol)
 
they don't (another reason why its better... just plain easier) i think he thought he had an IDE drive on there too

Another one of those people that post, then figure out the problem and never come back to let us know.

That's another one of my pet peeves!

Or, his system is totally hosed and he can't come back to post.
