how many 6 pin power connectors does this card need ? 2 or 1 ?

One for that, two power connectors are required for GTX and Ultra, the 8900's will probably take two and the 9800's will probably take two. Something new is about to come out to supply more power on one wire for this purpose, this is one of those things no one pays attention to.

Looking at the back of the board, I only see pin-outs for one power connection. Plus it only comes with a single converter, were as the GTX comes with a pair.

The 8800GTS 320MB is a great card I have one and it plays most games maxed out pretty well.
