Whats better

The Core 2 Duo will easily beat the Athlon, partly because it's dual core and partly it's basically a Core 2 Duo cut down a bit.

...and still, I, personally, would buy the AMD chip :D

(..but then, after Celeron D and the P4HT @ 15745874085380675*F, I've grown to dislike Intel.. so I may be a little bias)

Alittle Bias? You'd choose a single core A64 over a C2d Proc. I'm thinking you totally jumped Bias and went with absolutely crazy. :P

Agreed ;)

.. but imagine living day in and day out with a 747 taking off on your computer desk every 5 minutes.. that's the cpu fan + exhaust fan trying to cool down that 65*c Celeron D :D

I'm sure 775's are much better, but for the price.. I'd prefer AMD.

Just to note, I'm positive that the intel chip listed above will perform alot better, the above is just my opinion on intel and shouldn't be used in your decision as to which chip to purchase.. if those are the only two you'll choose from, go with the intel.

You've just had the wrong stuff......

well to be fair, you can overclock the dual core to 2.128 ghz stock voltage easily, seeing as all of the core2 boards have a stock 1066fsb and the dual core has a 800 fsb.

What kind of CPU should i buy, right now i have a AMD Athlon 64 3200 @2200 MHZ and i have a Asus Salmon Motherboard
