I need help with deciding on a new computer to buy.

I just started going to school to learn new media. I will be using programs such as photoshop and illustator CS3, indesign, dreamweaver, flash, and so on. I already own all these software for the pc wich I have been using on a computer that I share. I finaly have the money for one of my own, so I am shopping around for a new computer and I would like to know what specs I will need. I have a $1,500 to $1,700 bugget and my perchase needs to include a monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse. I also need a good printer/copier/scanner to be included in the bugget. I have been looking at Dell's XPS as a base to start at and build upon but I'm not sure if it's a good computer and I would like to know what people think about them. If it's no good what do you suggest.

Dell's XPS is not a good computer to build on... Build it yourself... Once you do, it's easily fixed and you learn a lot... And now that you have found the forum, we can help you out!!
