make sure all components are powered by the PSU... check all cable connection
check if the RAM is securely attached

Does it even power on?
If it doesnt look for:

Bad switch
Faulty Power Supply
Faulty motherboard

If powers on with no picture :

Check video card, use onboard if possible.
Check you ram is tight and secure. If it is, wiggle it an bit.
Do you haev the 6pin GFX or 4pin mobo connector in?

Asus board huh? Where you able to get into a post screen at all. If so were you able to get into bio's?

Any error beeps?

If it is an Asus...

I've heard that their boards are picky 'bout RAM... Had an asus board before (slot1) didnt want to boot up if the RAM wasnt PC133... Might want to check if that RAM is on the compatiable list...

well the ram isnt on the asus list and yes all plugs in and vid cards in everything in it might be ram coz its not on the asus list ??????

As I said Asus boards are rather picky. I suggest first RMAing the board just to make sure. If you can refund the RAM and buy an Asus compatiable RAM....

If you can get the compatiable RAM, that would help. As of right now we cannot be sure that RAM is the issue.

If you can get into the bio's, you will probably need to manually set the timings for your ram. You need to look at what your latency's are for your ram, and go into the bios under Advanced, memory timings. Set your latency from the top to the bottom, Like 4-4-4-12 ( or whatever your timings are) Then Change the memory voltage(something like 2.2V) to whatever yours says it is. Save and reboot.

Using the Auto setting in a Asus board is hit and miss, mostly miss.
