Installing xp

hi, i recently installed ubuntu onto my compaq v6150nr laptop and i found out that many of the features werent working (such as no support for my modem)

so i went to put xp back onto my computer (i did not make a system restore disc before i deleted the operating system the first time =/) and when i put in a normal xp home edition and started the setup.. right at the beginning it says "hard drive not detected"

so i am assuming i need the drivers for the hard drive of my laptop? but how would i put the drivers on without having a floppy drive on my laptop?

Welcome to the forums.
First you needed to put in mind that you need to know a bit about linux before putting it on your system
Anyways.
Since its not detecting the hard drive you have to get drivers from your manufacturers website.
don't worry i think the drivers is small just put on floppy like you would any normal file.
When you enter the XP setup (forgot which key to press) go to the screen where it allows you to load third party drivers and there follow the prompt

yeah i also did a search for your drivers but didn't find any, whats difficult is that you don't have a floppy drive, i dont think XP will accept USB devices or cd/roms while in setup so..BUMP, can't help ya:(
edit : see if you can find the make of the hard drive and locate on the proper site.

cheers
