XP pro or Media Edition or Vista

Hey im in the process of buying parts to make a new rig.

Im not sure what OS to buy, xp pro,media or vista (64bit).

Reason I am considering XP is that I hear it just runs faster than vista and some games have issues with vista. If that is the case which shall I get Media Edition or XP pro?

If thats not the case I will go for the 64bit vista not sure what difference I will see I just like the bigger number.

I could get XP and upgrade to vista in like 6 months time when some of the bugs are ironed out I guess.

Well pretty much what are peoples ideas?

p.s. Oh the computer im building will be
Intel Q6600 processor (oc each core to 3.3ghz when I get round to it)
Asus PK5-E mobo
2x 1gb OCZ DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Memory Gold GX XTC CL5 DUAL CHANNEL
8800GTS Graphics card

Thats all the bits that might matter
 
Your PC can handle vista very smoothly without any problems... About the gaming part... I don't think you need to play old games anymore....new games are coming out for vista already.

If I were you I would buy Vista 64-bit
 
Most older games are getting better about running on vista and i havent found one of mine yet that woudlnt install and run and i have some old school games from the late 90's early 2000's p.s your avaitor is one of the most annoying i have seen not trynig to be mean its just annoying lol

cool thanks :D yeah its meant to be. And ALOT of people have said that. It was the first gif I ever made when I was 16 or something.
Ohh and yeah vista cool, I will get it :P. What benifits will I see with the 64bit vertion over the 32bit?
