Is it good to have a seperate Hard Drive for your OS?

I am getting another Hard Drive!

HD 1 is 36GB
HD 2 is 260GB

Both are SATA connections

Now I was thinking about installing XP on HD1 and have everything else (Games like WoW, pictures, music, etc) on HD2.

Would this be a good idea? If so what formats would it be wise to format them and what should the digtal cache/memory be set to on them, etc.

Thanks for any help with this matter!

use the fastest one for the operating system. probably the fastest is the 260gb one.

use the other for mp3s and movies.

Meh, I would just get the 260GB one and make 2 partitions.

yeah but he would lose his 36Gb drive then...the more space the better imo:) and why get rid of it if it still works?

what i would do is install Windows on the smallest drive and your games, files and stuff on the big 256Gb drive:)

There may be an good difference if you did that. The HDD wouldn't have to search through that many files to find the correct Windows files. Still though, not really big diffy :D
