linksys wrt54g problem

when i have my router in line with my modem and computer, my internet doesnt work. When i take out the router and plug the cable from the modem in to the computer the internet works. Can someone please help me.

did you have security setup for this router? if not, it could be that someone logged onto it as admin and messed with your settings.

you should be able to access the settings by typing http://192.168.1.1 into your web browser, hit enter, then a box asking for the user name and password will pop up. leave the user name blank, and type in "admin" for the password. if that doesnt let you into the setup, then you will have to do a hard reset.
