crud... my hd is dying a painfull death

as i lye here writing this i am lessening to my hard drive slowly die into oblivion.
it is not too bad but i think a sector is bad b/c it makes this horable scratching sound. it is ok it seems elsewhere but every once and a while it will make the sound. it is a laptop hd so i dont think this one has a smart chip. how long do you think it has? also do hard rives really have a lifetime warintey? (yes i spelled it wrong i dont know how and spell checker is wrong)

it's not a matter of how long it has, the lifespan can finish anytime, so basically get a new one, as an IT person you should know when any devices is going bad
in a pc or laptop we get a backup or new one ASAP.
and it's spelled "warranty", probably the spell check deceived you

thanks. but i dont need to back it up. i swear i reload the os on that thing everyday. have nothing worth it on there. i will just let it die... i will give it a month maybe
