I wouldn't bother with a X2900 since they barely outperform a 8800GTS, if i were you i'd rather go with a 8800GTX, btw you forgot power supply

o you´re right i thought about 550 watt

ok the 8800 GTX is better but more expensive (about 100€ i think) so i would prefer the 8800GTS with 640MB, but don´t you think that if the driverbugs are away the ATI would be better?

i say you should wait on the whole build until CRYSIS (DX10) comes out and see how the 2900xt stacks to the 8800gtx

I would just get 8800GTS 320MB, because the 640MB version barely outperform the 320MB version

in current gen games, but seeing as its a dx10 card we'll have to see what next gen will demand. increasing video card memory has always been a very obvious trend, and every time buying the card with more memory ended up being an investment. it seems like a good idea until you run out and use system memory, which kills performance.

it depends how demanding these games are. thats why im waiting until christmas for a new card, crysis will have been benched with many cards on many settings

Now what are the specs of that PSU?

DS3. Cheap and suits you needs.

I would get the P5K Deluxe if you can afford it, it's a great motherboard.

And the 2900XT is a lot better now since the newer drivers are out, my 3DMark06 score went up several hundred points even though my CPU and GPU weren't clocked as high. Although the 8800GTS 320MB is still a better deal for the money, theres nothing wrong with the 2900XT, especially since they are only $390.

You wrote about 390$. In Germany, where I am from, you can buy it already for about 320€. So i really think, that it is very good.

A quality 550W PSU will do the job, but don't just buy a generic no-name brand - it won't be able to put out the required amount of power for any length of time. Certainly I would consider 550W to be about the minimum with a 2900XT, though.

I do´t think that that´s the minimum, that may be it if you´ld use crossfire surly, but i think for that it´s enough even if you do something you need all performance.

Thank you for your opinion!!!
