HD audio

i just hooked up my HD audio and downloaded the Realtek HD driver and i cant get my sound to work, any suggestions?

Did you download an anonymous one or an specific one for your sound card?

i did restart and i just downloaded the realtek HD for windows xp off of the realtek site.

Hmm.. and the sound is still not working? Is the sound muted or turned low?

Try another website for drivers. What is your laptop manufacturer and model?

not a laptop its a desktop

im not exactly sure, my friend said i had onboard soundcard.

Motherboard model number?

i think that means its on my motherboard? my mother board is a ASUS A8N-SLI deluxe

Yes. Onboard and Integrated means it's "in" your motherboard.

Hmm.. do you have the site where you downloaded the drivers?

Those are codecs.. I think they decode the type of music... those are not drivers..

Download the drivers from the site I linked. Install those and your set

sorry but im not good with computers, which one of those do i download? i dont see any HD ones.

Audio. Then the one with your OS.

Just download the one according to your OS.

And that is what your onboard sound CHIP is. HD is not an name, its an term describing the type of audio.

Those are the correct drivers, if thats the motherboard you have.

HD is a term thrown around too often by motherboard manufacturers.
