Is there a cheaper alternative to Apple TV?

Cause I am getting a Macbook, and I dont want to spend more money on something that syncs wirelessly to my TV.

There is a USB product, I don't know if it works with Mac

I have an Xbox 360 if that helps at all.
But I'd like it to work with the Mac though.
