Virtual Memory

Greetings,

I am just a novice. Recently, I reformatted the hard drive of my desktop. It is a Gateway 2.8 Gig. It now runs much faster. However, Windows keeps telling me that my virtual memory paging file is too small and is being increased. Is there a way to fix this permanently? Thanx

Getting more RAM should fix it, you can also set the paging file to start out larger. Right click on my computer->pick properties->advanced tab->performance button->advanced tab->change button under virtual memory. Then enter the amount you want and reboot.

i find if your pc has over 1Gb you can disable pagefile and it runs alot faster.

i always disable mine after a format and clean install.

Thanx Cromewell and Jabes. I increased the virtual memory from 372 MB to 500 MB. Let's see what happens. If that doesn't work, I'll disable it totally.
