New Home Theater!!

Finally setup my home theater system :D (or my parents i guess...)

The rear speakers, note this is purely for listening to music, and also all the speakers are evenly spaced, the weird angle just makes it looks clumped up on the far end.

1 of the 4 rear speakers, it's about 6 5/8" tall.

The front right speaker, two 5" drivers and a 1" dome tweater. It's about 17" tall and weighs about 8.5lbs.

Front left speaker, pretty much the same story as the right (and center speaker, which i forgot to take a picture of, but it's basically like this one but horizontal.

The reciever/dvd/subwoofer setup. I'm running a digital coaxial cable from the DVD player to the receiver. And if you haven't noticed, I'm not quite done with cleaning up yet :P I still have a few extra cables lying around as we switched out the longest cables (they weren't long enough). And as for the subwoofer, it has a 10" downthrowing driver.

And last of all the receiver itself. I believe it can push out 910 watts onto 7 channels max, but the system is only configured to put out 110 watts onto each channel, and the active subwoofer puts out 230 watts, which brings it to 1000watts total.

So overall I'm very impressed by the quality of the system. Of course I'm not an audiophile(neither are my parents), but this is by far the best speaker system we've bought so far, and it only cost us $410 on amazon with free shipping :) (the box was 95lbs...I have NO clue how the DHL guy got it to my front door...)

Looks very nice.

How is the sound when you listen to an action DVD? Does it make your house shake lol?

Haven't tried yet :) I usually listen to music on 24-35 volume (and it gets pretty dam loud at 35), I think it maxes out at 80..soo..yeah....

The best home theatre of been to is an older cousin of mine, he has a 1080i projecter, THX Certified surround sound, xbox360 with High Defintion Drive and comfy couches of course.

The only downfall is that the projector doesn't do true 1080p but he has a Chimei 22" LCD Screen that hooks up to his computer and another xbox360, so I get to experience it in some form.

Looks good, but I would have pulled the crown molding down and put the speaker wires behind it.

I'm just funny that way, I hate wires showing.

Dont want to embed them into the walls? It would look a little better...

Hmm I don't think my parents will want to bother to do that, it took us a good 4 hours just to run all the wires :P.

I suggested that, but my parents didn't want to go through the hassles :P.

How ironic, my parents are the complete opposite. They absolutely hate wires showing! And they had our speakers embedded in the roof. Our roof does look nice without wires. Behind our TV, thats a whole nother story >.< :D.

Gee I wish I had your parents. We barely had any tools, we didn't even have a usable power drill until my dad ran out and bought one that morning...
