problem starting game

Hey all,

i just installed a free game called BMW M3 Challenge

then started it and get a damn error...i feel like chucking my pc out the window its no good lol:D

any ideas?
ive re-installed and same problem:mad:


ive googled the error code but all i can find out is its some sort of memory error but theres nothing wrong with my ram as i run memtest a long time ago and it came back fine:confused:

Btw im using Xp.
 
Have you looked at the temp file the game has made, to see if it has any hints as to what it may be? The .txt file?
 
The error signature points at the BMW.exe file, so my guess would be corrupted download. Try to redownload it from a different site.
 
just re-downloaded it andinstalled in a diffrent path and still it doesnt work.

its so annoying.

i asked the question in their main forums in the tech problems area and the only reply i got was i needed to format and install windows again wth?:D

wth...i told you i have only just recently formatted and instaled windows,all other games work fine and i have done everything the guys here advised me too.:confused:
 
Yeah, sounds like the game is just fuskered... I'll try downloading it and see if i get the same error.

Edit: starwarsguy seems to have a problem with it as well, just forget about the game, or wait till they release a version/download that works.

well i got another reply from their tech support at BMW M3 Challenge forums and this is what they said....

Your Problem is the 9600 grafic card, be shure to disable fastwrites in the driver menue from ATI

but the problem is that Fastwrites was already dissabled so i thought i should enable fastwrites to see if it works but i get the same error aswell when its enabled:cool:

the game works for many of them on the forums but not me:mad:

what is fastwrites anyway?
why was it disabled in the first place?

ok for those of you that had the same problem as me...heres the fix.

get rid of those default crappy drivers from ATI or Nvidia your using and use Omega drivers.

when i uninstaled the normal ati drivers and installed Omega it worked fine:D
 
lol! The game doesn't work with "default" drivers? that's like, cutting out 80% of their desired market. It really should be fixed..
