New build under 700$: good suggestions R welcome :)

Hi everybody!

I'm building a new system for myself. The budget is around 600-700, the cheaper - the better :) Main tasks to perform: listening and mixing music (Ableton, Adobe Audition), web-design (maybe some Photoshop), watching videos, some games (Football Manager 2007, nothing requiring real good video card).

So far I came up to the next setup:

1. 122-126$ Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 or E4400

2. 114$-10 MiR Motherboard MSI P6N SLI-FI (I'm taking 120 Gb harddrive and Sony cd-rom from old system, as this one have 2 IDE connectors :))

3. 110$-15 MiR Video Sapphire Radeon x1650XT

4. 104$-40 MiR Memory Corsair 2x1Gb DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) XMS2 C4 4-4-4-12 2.1 v

5. 66$-10 MiR Case Cooler Master Centurion 5CAC-TO5-UW or Cooler Master Centurion 5

6. 100$-10 MiR Power Supply Corsair 520W CMPSU-520HX

Total: 616-620$ - 85 MiR = 531-535$

Later, may be next month I'm planning to add some more stuff to the system:
- Sata DVD-RW
- SATA 2.0 harddrive 750 GB
- LCD 22'' monitor
- cooler, something from Zalman (9700?), because I want to overclock the system, that was one of the reason to choose Intel, another one is to score on Quad upgrade, when available on cheap price (may be in 2 years from now).

So, if beeing not a big specialist in hardware area I have next questions to ask:

1. Are my system components compatible and should potentially work good with each other?
2. What processor should I choose for better overclocking: E4300 or E4400. I'm looking at 3,0Ghz level.
3. Do I need to buy a cooler right now or it will be fine before overclocking?
4. Any components replacements suggested?

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

Overkill of cpu, at best he would need the E6750 for what he intents to use, the hdd is crap, never even heard of the brand, plus the fact everything comes from china doesn't help, now the graphic card, well is a piece of shit, he would be alot better with a 7600gt and still saving 20$ plus the other 10-15$ on the mail on rebate

Yeah i agree. I would get the E6750. Man makes me sick... i spent about $950 on my rig without a video card! arh :P

damn guys harsh! i would go with an e6600, that processor is rock solid, and has the power/price ratio to kill a wildebeest. (not sure where the wildebeest comes into play though)

Guys, I don't want to overpay for the processor. I think it's better to overclock one of 4000's then to pay more for 6000's. Afterall, most of people doing so, new Intel's very overclockable and I hope to get it running on 3,0 Ghz. The price difference between 4300 and 4400 is minimal, but which one is better for overclocking? I read somewhere that 4400 is cut version of something and it might be harder to overclock. About 4300 I read that it's overclocking really good, so which one is better for me?

The more you pay the better overclocker you get because they have a higher multiplier. I would say the 4400 because it would have a higher multi over the 4300
