Upgrade of processor

I have purchased a HP Slimline. I was told by thier tech that the processor was not able to be upgraded. Is this true?
 
Well, you can upgrade it, providing there is enough room in the case for the CPU HSF to go... What CPU does it currently have in it?

Like I said, you are able to up-grade the CPU, but you'd have to make sure there was enough room for the HSF.

You have dual core CPU, so I wouldn't upgrade any time soon, especially if it's still covered by warranty.

It's an Core 2 Duo :D

That looks like an fine system to me. I suggest upgrading the video card if you plan on gaming though.
 
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the HP Slimline desktops actually use a mobile-based motherboard and processor, but again i'm not positive on that.

It'd be pretty hard to upgrade the video card if it's a slim case, and even if you do upgrade, I think the x1550 or 7600GS (or something on that level) is the best you can get :(.
