Trouble pulling it together...

Right now, I'm determined to get a computer running from only the parts I have now for someone who has virtually no money to put in it.

Right now i have a power supply, processor, and a graphics card together just to see if i can get it running. When i turn on the power though, all i get is a greeting of three or four beeps. I'm very sure the processor and motherboard are good and compatable, for they were in a computer together not too long ago. The graphics card might not be good, I didn't think that would cause the beeping though. Does anyone know what my problem is?
Would it still go into the BIOS wihtout a hardrive or ram?

You need to have a stick of memory in before it will boot up

What are the specs, video card psu ect.?

Hahaha. I dont know one thing about any of the parts. I still can't find out what kind of mobo it is. i know its dell though.....

Ok, so it deffinately won't go into the BIOS without some memory. thats good. there's still a chance this computer will live.

You have no ram or a hard drive? Why are you bothering with it then?

I am pretty sure you need ram to even boot into the bio's. Of course I have never tried doing it with out some ram, so I could be wrong.

I know you don't need a hard drive to get into the bio's though.

I didn't think you had to have ram to boot to bios... atleast i know you don't with laptops

I though it has a VERY small amount build in, like in kb's

oh i do have ram and a hard drive, there just not accesable at this time, so i was testing the parts i have in front of me.

After you get the ram/hard drive you shouldn't have problems... if you do keep posted and im sure someone can help

I know of no computers that can do that :)

Older laptops had built in memory if that's what you mean...
