I just recently upgraded to the 8800GTX. I had a 6800Ultra before and was getting 60-80fps and ever since I upgraded to the new card, it performed the same and sometimes even worst than my previous card. I dont understand. When I was running the 6800Ultra, I only had 2gigs of PC8500 RAM and now, I got the 8800GTX with an extra 2gigs so I am at 4gigs of 1066mhz memory and it performed the same sometimes worst with max settings. I dont understand, I should be in the 100's. I was also running it on 1680x1050 on both cards too. What is wrong with my system? My specs are in my sig.

its weird, my video stress test resulted with a 181.2fps. But it doesnt even come close to that in game. My AA setting is at 4x MSAA and my AF is at Trilinear and both were recommended by CS:S.

When you say "worser experience" does that mean that you actually SEE the game lag? FPS calculators can be wrong...

In Counter-Strike there is a, well.. rate counter i guess you could call it in the game. You start running it by going into the developer's console and entering net_graph 3 ; This brings up some text that constantly tells and updates you on your fps, choke, loss and in/out while playing. I highly doubt it would be giving him wrong results. If he's using fraps or something though, maybe it is.

I kinda have the same thing as you though mate, i upgraded from a P4 1.8, FX 5200, 512 RAM to a Core2Duo 2.0, 8500GT and 2GB RAM.. Yet FPS is only increased by about 20. On demanding maps like Dust2 i can get FPS as low as 35 on max settings.. but.. 1024x768 Res..

Yuck! That's worse than mine and you have a quad core... But is it Overclocked?

It is stock. Everything is stock. I havent OC anything yet. And yes I use net_graph 3 and it shows a very low fps rate. I should be expecting somewhere near 100 no matter how much action I get. When I get into huge gun fights my 8800GTX drops to like 30-40 just like my 6800Ultra.
