Hi, I am the very beginner with Linux OS. I am currently using SUSE 10.1 and have no experiences with this OS at all.

I am a bit struggeling how to install Wine. If its possible the description to be please more sophisticated because as I said I wont understand much.

Any responses are appreaciated

go to YAST and there search for Package manager, open it up, then in the search box type "wine".
And another thing, instead of using Yast use Smart, it's way better and it's on the dvd itself

I recommned that you really don't use WINE. It has a tendency to mess things up. If you need something from an EXE file you could use cabextract to get what you want.

Thx for the link...

Is there in the linux some pattern for intalations like where are the file installed and where are some places which show istalled programmes like in windows?

I really dont see a reason why the instalation should produce so many issues.

thats linux for you, if you were doing installation via the konsole or terminal you would see all kinds of sh*t, no seriously.
anyway programs are automatically added to your K-menu in suse (thinking you're using KDE)

Gnome does that aswell

Well I tried to install also some KOFFICE program following your instructions and it went without a porblem. (Thank god)
When I tried the same with the Wine I didnt really spot that it has been installed successfully cause there was no evidence. And also I cent find it in the K-menu...

I try to look more deep, maybe it appears somewhere.
