Saving my files!

I have a 250GB Iomega external hard drive, and recently it decided it doesnt want to turn on anymore. I'm more concerned about my files than the drive itself, since I put all of my pictures, videos, and music on it. Anyone have any ideas of how I could save those files? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
Is the closure not working or is the HDD not working? If the HDD is dead give it an slight knock, if no do then I suggest an HDD revival company.
 
Same problem

I had the same problem with a firewire Adcom external drive many time it just did not become active. Adcom Tech. support had not a clue as what my problem was.

I gave up on the firewire drive and bought and Adcom USB external drive and it always becomes active. I am runing Win.XP SPII on and HP computer.
 
I suggest looking around Ebay or something. I've never had a external HDD closure, but what interface is the HDD? It's not just IDE or SATA?
