ACK! memory thief!

Well, here's my $70 graphics card, doing things it shouldn't:

The card is an EVGA GeForce 8500 GT - which doesn't share with the system, has 256 MB of its own.

I have an Intel Socket 775 mobo which had integrated Intel Extreme graphics that borrowed 256 MB from the system. Its drivers are disabled now (I thought?).

I have 2GB dual-channel 667 MHz Crucial PC2-5300 DDR2 RAM.

My card is a low-budget one of course, but EVGA is still a good brand. Anyone know what might be causing it to take 3/4 of a gig of ram that doesn't belong to it?

Thanks

edit: By the way, I wasn't sure if this should go to Memory or Graphics. If I chose wrong, please move it.

there is an option in bios to allow video cards to use a set amount of system mem, for when it runs out. its not actually using it always, but its available if the vga runs out.

if you have enough res / aa / texture detail, and it does run out and decide to use system memory, you will take a huge performance hit, so dont even bother to change it.

Yeah, it's not that big a deal. Like Bradan said it's still available to the system until the card needs it, and that'll only happen when in game, so i don't think you'll be missing the "stolen" RAM.
