Hey Folks.
I have an HP ZD7010us laptop. It was built for XP, but with the hardware that this computer has, XP is not so fast. So Installed 2000, one of my favorite OS's. I got the drivers for the the built in wireless card (Broadcom 54g MaxPerformance 802.11g) and installed them just fine. I connected to my home wirless network with an excelent connection. So, I went to IE and it I got the option to Work Offline or Try Again. I presses try again and got the Page Can Not Be Displayed. I checked the connection status and there are usually between 0-100 Packets sent, and 0-5 Recived. I did ipconfig /all in command prompt, here is what I got:
Windows 2000 IP Configuration
Host Name: CBlack
Primary DNS Suffix :
Node Type: Broadcast
IP Routing Enabled: No
WINS Proxy Enabled: No
Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix:
Description: Broadcom 54g MaxPerformance 802.11g
Physical Address: 00-90-4B-46-2E-80
DHCP Enabled: No
IP Address: 192.167.1.xx (Sorry, Cant give you my full IP)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254
DNS Servers: 192.168.1.254
I also went to Control Panel/Admin Tools/Servises and saw that Wireless Configuration Was not enabled, I tryed enableding it.. got an error message
"Could Not Start The Wireless Configuration On Local Computer
Error 1747: The Authentication service is unknown"
Someone Please Help?
Oh, Also, I connected the laptop via ethernet cable and it worked just fine.
