wireless g

Hello friend i did not heard about it. and don't have any idea about g adapter and router but i really wanna know about this because i have interest in networking so i wanna now about this technique.i knew about router but not about adapter ..
 
What he means by adapter is a wireless network card. As in a PCI or a USB one most likely. You plug it in and you can connect to a wireless network.
 
I have a G router, but a B laptop with in built card.

Thinking of getting a G card to plug in.

Would I really experience a quicker speed for surfing the net etc?
 
No speed difference for any online applications. The only change you may get would be a better or worse signal depending on the card. If you have poor reception, the transfer speeds decrease.
 
Exactly! I once went to a hotspot that had n and I have a G card and it worked fine. But, It ran at the regular 54 MBPS Speed.
