Hi all

non computer literate user here!!, i use a pc at work for designing and emailing, now find i need a lap top due to work comitments -I need as large a screen size as possible for presentation work, looking at the dell XPSM2010 & the HP HDX9095ea..........any comments on these two machines or possibly an alternative I havent mentioned??

As i said im no computer expert.....far from it so please speak in lay mans terms

many thanx in advance

Do you need to move your laptop around? I feel both the XPSM2010 and HDX9095EA is too heavy (over 8kg!!!). Dell Precision M6300 may be a better choice for u.

thanx for the reply, only need to transport by car not carrying about - it will be used at one of two/three sites so weight is not really a problem, have picked up the hp so know what you mean, i will look into the model you mentioned - really want to know pros & cons for both machines in terms of spec & quality etc.

I prefer HP as it is cheaper based on similar spec. (not sure where u coming from)
HP: T7500, 2GB RAM, 400GB HDD, 2600XT, 20.1". £1600-1700
Dell customize: T7400, 2GB RAM, 320GB HDD, X1800. 20.1". over £2300

I think X1800 is better than 2600XT, but I personally don't think it worth extra £600

i agree with daisy, the HDX has a better 'bang for the buck' factor

If your just need an laptop for it's battery life and screen size, and mainly for word processing and presentations, then I'd just be focusing on the battery (Lithium Ion) and an big screen (Like Dell's). Otherwise, see if you can get an projector for an BIG screen.
