I am building a custom P.C. for a friend the specs are below, and am wondering what ram speed I should get, considering ram is pretty cheap right now I was wondering if this combo would be appropriate
Will this set function properly

PC Chips p33g mobo - 1066 mhz fsb, sis 671/968 chipset
intel pentium dual core e2160 (do not plan on overclocking to avoid warranty issues)
250 gig seagate barracuda drive (sata 3gb/s 7200 rpm)
lite-on ide dvd burner with light scribe + lite-on 16x dvd-rom
evga ge-force 8600gt 256mb 128bit directx 10 core speed 540 mhz
and the 2 gigs of ram above.
will be running vista ultimate with uac disabled

any insight would be helpful thanks.

DDR2 667 is the max speed it supports. That DDR2 800 will clock down but other than that it should work fine.

I just checked the owners manual and that does indeed seem to be the case. I am going to go for the 800 mhz ram either way, its only $61 for 2 gigs and does have heat spreaders i guess thats my best bet - a factory installer heatspreader as opposed to some generic brand with 3m tape that will burn my ram

You mean Intel Core 2 Duo E2160...

And you really mean more than 10MHz core clock speed...

And A-Data sucks...

After the rebate.. only like $2 more, and wayyy better.

I'm going to stick with a-data I have used them before and found their products to be extremely well built. I do not overclock any of the pc's I build, so overclock-ability is useless to me. Besides the A-data RAM has some of the best user-reviews around, better reviews than most of the higher end stuff

But if you can get higher quality RAM that will probably last longer..:rolleyes:

And if it's only an bit more...

And if has an 3% higher 5 star rate.. :P

It supports upto DDR2 667 speed .and make each thing very much fast in processing..I am going to go for the 800 mhz ram either way,,it has provided very fast and reliable facility to words speed and processing..so you should go for good one that may helps you as per your needs..
