Hello all, I have a Sony VGC-RC210G desktop computer. It will not power up. The light comes on in the front (Vaio led light), and I get power to the motherboard. I will press the power button on the front and the fan on the power supply and the processor fan barely move and I get nothing else. No post screen, nothing at all. I reseated the cards (video and tv tuner), I checked power supply connections at the mobo as well as the front panel connection to the mobo. Any suggestions as what to check or what could be wrong?

When did you purchase this computer? If it's still in warranty (one year, I think), you can replace it for a new one.
I had a similar power supply problem with the Sony PCV-RS430G. The power supply worked, but I wanted to replace it for a better power supply. Replacing the power supply could be difficult. Sony computer cases are proprietary, meaning, standard ATX PSU's typically will not fit the case. If you haven't already, check out your computer's support page. Try chatting with a tech support person. Describe your problem. Sometimes they're helpful.
Take the motherboard out of the case, and take everything out, and reconnect everything.Turn it on by shorting the front 2 power switch wires. If it turns on, then I would check the brassstandoffs
If not, then the PSU is most likely dead.
It was a year ago in April, can you believe it? Thanks for the link, I will check it out, and I did notice what you said about the case, it is something else.

If the power supply is the culprit, it could be expensive to replace (assuming you're out of warranty). I attempted to upgrade my PSU through Sony. They wanted $279 for a 320W.

Sony's are usually ATX, take an look, and get an picture up if you can.
