Ok, first of all, here are the specs:

Q6600 CPU
8800GTS 640 MB GPU
Abit IP35 Pro Mobo
OCZ ddr2 2 gig ram
Corsair 620 watt PSU
Western Digital Raptor HD

Now, I have tried taking out the GPU, CPU, and RAM and reinstalled/reset them all. I tried resetting the CMOS. I disconnected my HD and CD drive and tried to boot witht hose disconnected and nothing. I disconnected and reconnected all of the power connections.

The Symptoms: When I boot I get single long beeps coming from the case speaker. My monitor doesn't come out of stand by mode, and obviously I get no posting or any kind of display at all. The POST code detector on the mobo stopS on "C1", which I belive is something to do with the RAM and/or the GPU.

Any ideas on what the problem might be or ways of narrowing it down? My first and second build went smoothly. This one, not soo much

I've been out of the loop for awhile. Will the 8800GTS work in any PCI slot? If so, I can test that. I think the RAM in any computer I have access to is 184 pin, and my new RAM is 240. So thats a no-go there.

I figured that. I know is has PCI slots, but didn't think it had PCIE slots.

Damnit, anyone have another other ideas??

I guess I could go buy a cheap PCI GPU and see if that works. Maybe I'll buy some cheap ram while I'm at it. Thats about all I can think of to do at this point.

That's about all you can do. If the RAM is new (I'd fault the RAM before the GPU) exchange it for a new set, the place you got it should take it back.

I got it at Clubit.com.

I am going to try to run 1 stick of RAM to see if maybe I have a single faulty module. I'm hoping thats the case, as it would be probably the most simple fix.

do you have one or 2 sticks of ram in cuz wen I googled the post code somebody was sayin that the code means that u need to have 2 sticks of ram in and if u have 2 sticks in wat slots are they in?

Ok, So I tried one my sticks of RAM in all 4 slots and nothing. I took the other stick, put it in the first slot, and she fired right up. So it looks like I have a bad stick of RAM.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm glad it was only something minor.
