Motherboard: no idea
Ram : 2-4gigs
Video : Nvida 8800 series ( gtx i think )
Hard Drive : Dunno thinking 500+ in raid 0 ( i think raid 0 is good )
CD Drive :1-2 ( agin dont no if theres a best )
Floppy : optional
Power supply: 500+ ( i think )
Cooling : dunno if i want to go all the way into liquid, but i want it cold

Im sorry for my my lack in computer Hardware, so if you would be kind enought to tell me what i need, dont need, or will need. SO any feed back would be great even if you call me a noob, i would just like some feedback on what i need to improve on.

Thanks

Thoughts:

You can remove the silentx fan if you want, make sure your video card is 100% good because msi has been having some with arctifacting at stock speeds, if yours does this rma it as soon as possible, other than that i'm pretty sure you'll love this build

1- Will that case fan for the back, be able to fit into this case?
2- Dose Vista still give people problems. Beacause i rember when it came out people hated it....
3- If i do build my own * gaming rig * how do i config the cmos and bios 9 ihave some background but very little, i mean if you tell me to set my hd settings to master and slave, i have no idea what you are talking about
4-And lastly how much will i be able to over clock this system? will it get too hot?will it burn out my comp in 5yrs?lol and how would i be able to do it (i no its in bois, i think)

Well, it that with tax? is there tax on computers? Sorry for these dumb questions, im just trying to learn about the computeting world. Well thanks your for AMAZING advice and list of hardware.:D

The "hair" should be fine. Just make sure the vents are cleaned one time another. I have never blew an computer using static in my life. Just open the computer you have not, turn it off with the switch in the back, and touch it. That should discharge any static on yourself.

Read that, your set. I would an LCD to give you more eye life and less radiation.... but it's your choice. I'd highly recommend an LCD.

I also whant to Over Clock the CPU, will it still last 4-5 years? and how far can you OC Q6600 with the Gigabyte Motherboard that i might get. How can i make sure i OC it just right? meaning i dint over do it but dint get the full power out of the q6600. Im just a little nevious about paying $2,000 on something but then breaking it or doing something stupid. So i want to be as careful and no everything to no about to put it together ( illread the Computer 101 guid tonight) and making sure i can configure the BIOS and OC it correctly. Once again i have to say you guys are realy good at what you do and know what your talking about. Thanks in advance

Thank you

Dan

If i build this comp, will it stand up on games at high proformance? i mean will this comp blow my mind ( the comp im useing right now is a Dell Demension 3000)? and how long will it last if i over clock it?

The fan was because it would help more air than the one it comes in the rear, but it's up to you, everything except mounting the cpu cooler should be easy just remember to re-check everything and not to leave the mother board without the "screws" between the mother board trail and the motherboard.

Yea it will last more than 5 years ( the cpu not sure about the other hardware since there isn't such thing as perfect).

Yea it'll blow your mind compare to what you have, and yes it'll probably handle every game on high ( some might be on medium if you want to use full AA and stuff like bilinear etc)

Building a computer is actually much less complicated than you think.

When you actually get down to it, it's easy knowing what goes where, plus if you do get stuck there are multiple guides, and even videos of how to on websites like youtube.

I think your worrying too much about it, buy the stuff and see for yourself how easy it really is, make sure you've got internet access while your building it though, so you can ask here. My Email is [email protected] , if you have ANY questions about it don't hesitate, i'll try my best to help you out ;)

Good luck with the build !

im still amazed by the helpfullness and willingnees of people on this site, thanks Dazzeerr, thanks alot for lending your help. Im order the parts tonight, or monday. So they will arrive on Wed-Fri.

THanks

Yup everything should fit in the Antec 900. The P180B is a much more quieter case than the 900. I have it and it's not really that tight of a fit. The two chamber design is kind of hard to work with, but once you get it set, it all works brilliantly.
