Can't use free wifi.

for some reason my laptop can't seems to be able to use the free wifi at work or any other place that provides free wifi.

I can use my wireless in the house just fine. But when I goto the Mall or MC to get a burger the wifi just does not work. I can connect but no internet page will show up.

My laptop is set to auto set ip

Any idea whats going on?

is it secured?
 
If you can connect to their network but not get on the internet then it's either a problem with the AP you're trying to connect to, or you're settings arent configured properly on your device.

Do you have the TCP/IP settings set to automatic?
 
Check your actual browser settings, especially LAN setting. Make sure proxy information isn't screwed. Also, renew/repair your connection... could be stuck on an invalid IP.
 
how do I renew my wireless connection? I tried the repair many times and it just does not work.

I think 0mega and addle has pin the problem of my wireless connection.
Because I was able to use the free wifi right after the renew of my connection.

I think the person who renewed my connection went to the properties of the TCP/IP and renewed it somehow.

any idea?
