Compliment for Vista from a skeptic...

Ok, I had a lot of doubts when I decided to go with Vista Ultimate as my operating system on my new computer but after getting it installed and setup this morning I was very pleased with how easy and quick it installed. It was the most pain free windows installation I have ever done! So wanted to share that and Im sure I'll be sharing more likes/dislikes with Vista as I get into it further, but wondering if anyone else had a similair experience?
 
yeah i got it a while back and the installation is SO SO easy...you didnt even need to setup an internet connection or audio drivers. Although vista ran quick on my computer, the stuff i do on my computer worked just a little faster on XP. (recording audio/video) but yeah im not to big of a fan of it now. I mainly got it for the aero lol
 
Well I'll wait to see what happens once I try to get my Creative Suite 3 running... I may heading back to XP afterall.
 
I tried Windows Vista on my Desktop Computer worked fine but one my laptop...
Its like its on fire.. It over heats the CPU.... I dislike windows Vista because its just windows xp with its Shell Reconfigured...
 
don't get me started about vista now, oh yes the installer is better than XP, very easy.
BUT...BUT....softwares.....some hardware....don't seem to work.....depends on the computer......not many of us can afford to but new PC's or vista Capable ones


ok let's cut to the chase, i like vista, i removed XP on my thinkpad to try out vista and since my thinkpad is capable everything was installed perfectly no errors, but once i started installing my own softwares, oh the pain started. but oh well have to wait for this so called VistaSP1.

I dont know if Im convinced to join the Vista army yet Jut, lol. I did get Photoshop CS2 and Dreamweaver 8, Flash 8, and Fireworks 8 to install and work alright, but i still have a kit if software and hardware to get installed and working yet before im completely sold on Vista. I do like the interface and I dont see where people complain about eating resources, mine is pretty constant right around 8-12% usage when Im doing standard tasks.
 
The funny thing is soon they are going to release the beta of the new os last i saw they were talking like early to mid next year why they are already pushing a new os when they havent fixed vista yet is beyond me.. I love vista dont get me wrong its on my main pc at home but there have been 2 times now that after automatic updates completed it restarted and then just went into a circle of reboot over and over nad the only changes made were the updates vista installed on itsself. I'm not the only one that has had this issue either i know several pepole that after updates it killed their system. Love the os hate the updates simple as that.

:O Their pushing a new OS already?? I was thinking there were at least 6 or 7 years between XP and Vista right? There is not even a service pack for Vista yet... seems like a bad omen but whatever.

I did a ton of updates when I got Vista Ultimate installed on my new system but I had no problems with rebooting or anything like that.
 
They have been all along but it wasnt close to being done so they rushed out vista they had it even posted on their website... there is a wikipedia article on it i was reading not long ago...
 
Vista Sucks .. That what i emailed Micro$oft about
I spammed their inboxes with Vista Sucks and U suck for releasing it.

They basicly made money for a reconfigured XP.. And i "Bought" windows vista for nothing...
 
Wow that changed since the last time i saw it... Been a few months and now its no longer called vienna its windows 7 sheesh i wonder how many more times that will change lol... And the release date was 2008 now its 2010 gotta love how they cant decide what they are doing...
 
just wait until the first service pack when they get all of the bugs and compatability issues worked out, and see what the naysayers have to say then :rolleyes:

Because I got it for $50 off of Craigslist and anything thats $350 off of retail price is worth it :D

so whats gonna happen to vista ?
i mean i haven't started deploying vista yet in the office, we all run XP, sheesh, so basically , when im thinking of upgraing to vista another windows version after vienna will be out..:P:D
 
haha yea pretty much where i worked before the job i have now they had just started going to xp last summer aka 06 and then vista came out it was like wtf we just started getting all our apps up to xp standards and now vista... Where i currently work aka a bank they are still running 2000 on the majority of the systems becuase the teller software will not work on xp lol gotta love it...
