Hey all, I just repartitioned and installed Ubuntu 7.04 on my MacBook Gen. 2 1.8Ghz Core 2 Duo. Everything was fine for about 4 hours, now I can't seem to get OS X to boot. Ubuntu will boot fine, but not OS X. Any advice would be appreciated.

reboot the computer and hold down the option button on your keyboard. Then select the volume that has OS X installed on it.

Thanks.
I am aware of how to boot OS X... OS X won't boot.
It will go to a gray screen with an Apple and Pinwheel then shut down.
It does this regardless of whether I hold Option and select Mac HD, or if I just let it boot straight through to OS X.

Thanks.

Okay, hold down cmd + V to boot in verbose mode, see where it hangs and let me know the results.

Do you have access to another mac? You can also boot into single user mode holding down cmd + S then try this

Code:
/sbin/fsck -fy

Ok, booted in verbose. two things looked like possible issue. there was on pause at-

IOBluetoothACIControler:: Start Idle Timer Stopped Invalid Sibling Link
(4, 5751)

Boot continued and stopped at-

Checking Catalog File
Invalid Sibling Link
(4,5751)
Syncing disks...killing all processes

and it shuts down from there.

I'll try single user mode and get back to you.

EDIT: File system check returned same as above-

** /dev/rdisk0s2
** Root File System
** Checking HFS Plus Volume
** Checking Extents Overflow file
** Checking Catalog File
Invalid Sibling Link
(4, 5751)
Volume Check Failed

boot off the Tiger installation DVD and run the disk utility to repair it. If it can't repair it your only option is diskwarrior, which is a great tool to have anyways.
