Alright my desktop has been down for about a month now. It started when playing Tabula Rasa it started to randomly restart. Then it would start up sometimes and after a few minutes it would shut back down. Also sometimes when I tried to turn it on it would just hang there before it would beep and not go anywhere. I honestly thought it was my memory cause taken it out and putting it back in would sometimes cause the computer to turn on. But I ordered brand new memory put it in the computer thought it was going to work at first but then poof it shut back down. So what I think is that my motherboard is finally kicking the bucket. If others agree then I'll probably go and order new motherboards, dual-core amd, and memory.
Thanks
Restart and shutdown:
1. Overheating - Your processor is overheating due to lack of good cooling or you are overclocking.
2. GFX Overheating - Your graphics card is overheating due to the lack of good cooling or you are overclocking, or you are using an passive cooler.
3. Memory failure - Your memory is failing during games, due to an bad chip, causing restarts. Memory does not cause shutdowns however.
4. Unsufficient power supply - You are over exerting your power supply, like trying to power an Pentium 4 and an X1950 with an 250W. Your power supply is not cutting it and causing restarts due to lack of power in games, where power is used the most.
5. Overheating power supply - The above idea explains some. Your power supply may be poor quality, causing random shutdowns due to overheating the internals.
6. Undervolting - You power supply is not supplying enough 12V to your motherboard. In other words, you are having an voltage droop, or knows as VDroop. An small voltage drop is normal, however when it drops alot, your power supply could be the issue, causing shutdowns and random reboots.
