Ok so a couple weeks ago my computer shut down . . . wow whats so frikkin special about that? Well I didn't tell it to! When it started up it took f o r e v e r and said, "Windows has recoverd from a serious error." So I thought whierd and went about my day, but nothing would work and I mean nothing I couldn't even reformat the HDD!

So I looked around and was absolutly disgusted with what we had in town, the custon built major brands (dell, hp, acer, lenevo . . . ) All cost over $2,000 for what I want, and then I found this.

Now you may wonder why I just rambled on about this, well if dell and hp can't sell it to me for under 2 grand what's wrong with this computer? Is it just they don't advertise (I've never heard of them) and pass the savings to you, use ultra cheap components, or is compatiability a *female doggy*, what is it?

I want to know what you think about this computer.
Does it look good to you?
Would you buy it?
Does anything look really wrong with it?

I'm pretty sure I want to get this but I just don't know if it's quality, and if I do a search for it I can't find it which makes me nerveous.

P.S. I don't need a monitor or speakers, and what do you think hapend to my computer?

Is kinda k, you'd be better off building your own because you get more for what you pay versus company's like ciberpower,hp,dell, alienware etc

You should consider building one yourself. It's pretty easy. You could build an awesome system for the same price of one of those medicore OEM machines. :)

EDIT: Yeah, what chupacabra said (he posted before me :o).

If you built it yourself, then you could upgrade the HDD and video card for about the same price, or for even less.

I just priced the parts out using newegg for that system, and it is a decent price.

But you could still upgrade the video card and HDD's for the same price. Get rid of the SLI 8600's and go with 1 8800gts and get a HDD with 16meg cache instead of the 8 meg it has on the built system.

But, for what it is, it's a decent system.

Just be aware the cyberpowerpc does not have the best reputation. There are a couple of hundred complaints about them on the BBB website, and if you have any problems with the system you will have to deal with cyberpower to get them resolved.

Yup, just tell us what kind of budget you have and we will help you

Well I would really like to keep it under $1,200.

But I will pay more for something that I can upgrade (absolutly cannot go over $2,000.)

I like most of the components of the CyberPC except I'm not sure about the motherboard.

So what I have that's good.

DVD Burner
DVD Player
Floppy Disc
325 Watt Power supply
mATX case (but I don't want to reuse it)

I would like to get a pretty good motherboard that I can add onto. My dad wanted the bigger HDD but i'll sacrifice some space for something cheaper.

I don't want anything at the very top of the line (good but not expensive), and i'm pretty set on the Intel e6850.

Suggest away.

Edit: I don't have any fans (cheap ass compaq).

Around $140 left for O/S and mouse/keyboard. If you wish to save, use your orig O/S and keyboard + mouse. This PC is probably WAY better than the CyberPowerPC one..

E6850 VS Q6600
2GB VS 4GB
500GB 8MB VS 500GB 16MB
SLi 8600GT VS 8800GTS

That is attractive except I want the e6850 processor but it's 10 bucks cheaper so it dosent matter and I think I want SLI for future compatability.

Is getting a moterboard with SLI worth it?

And do I need a 700w power supply or is 500 enough?

1. The Q6600 is future proof.

2. SLi does not make it future proof. It makes it crappy. Not alot of graphics gains, while you could be getting an better card. The speeds and memory do NOT add up... overall the 8600GT gets owned by the 8800..

3. If your not going to use it...

4. Depends on the 12+ amps.

Wow change a couple of things and the price goes way down for better performance.
Thanks for all the help :)
