Is this a joke? Those things are useless... I know which websites to stay away from, don't download music in .exe form is a good tip to have.. It doesn't take a genius to figure out "Hey, this isn't right".
but how about other executable files you may want to download? For example, how would you know that
This site is ok to download from? Or what about the ever popular and malware ridden search for screensavers? Do you just not download anything you've never heard of before? I'd find that quite, well, limiting...
You say you know which websites to stay away from, considering how many new websites there are every day I find that quite unbelievable.. To exemplify, which of
these websites would you go to and which would you stay away from? Not easy to tell aye? You could of course just stay away from
all websites that offer free screensavers, themes, ringtones, pc utilities, porn, or any other download sites you don't know, but then you couldn't make use of most of the good stuff available on the web for free... It'd be like buying a ferrari and then only ever driving in the 40 zone, wouldn't it?
Remember, some of those add-ons aren't just for phishing sites, siteadvisor for example tests downloads as well.
when you install avast it gives you the option to install it so ive got the avast one
interesting, I forgot about that one..so what is it like? Is it only against phishing or bad downloads as well?
