hey hey, will a GT be able to run a 37"hd without any trouble or, should I get the GTX for twice the price:confused:

My goal is to run fps games from a 1080p 37" without any lag...what card should I get or what card should I wait for:cool:

thanks

The size of the screen doesn't matter, rather the resolution. 1080p is 1920 x 1280 or something, pretty hefty, but yeah. The GT should be enough.

thats great news, does anyone else agreeÉ

hmmm, maybe Ill try the gt and use the step-up program to the gtx if it doesn`t work out...

The GT is supposed to be on par with the GTX, but about $200 cheaper. I'd go with the GT. Screen size shouldn't have anything to do with it.

perfect! its actually $300 less over here lol......

I just read that the 8800 series will have a price drop before x-mas, is this something I should wait for or, will they just knock off 30 bucks:confused:

^ That's right. The native resolution of a 37" High Def TV is 1366 x 768. The 8800 GT can easily handle that.

nope, mines 1920x1080 and look what I just found:mad:

Differences with GTS and GTX
The 8800GT features less texture and stream processing capabilities than its more expensive brethren. The GT also has a narrower memory bus between the GPU and the video RAM, however actual memory bandwidth is only 10% less than that found on the GTS due to the higher clockspeed found on the GT. In real world applications the smaller bandwidth becomes an issue when running at resolutions near 1080p and above, with anti-aliasing active.

which means im gona have to dish out the cash for a gtx

Then you'll spend double for little more. The opinion of any one site/person can't stand alone, do more research on the subject, you might find that misconceptions are common, and that story telling comes natural.

Smaller memory bandwidth can be a problem, not a huge one in this case. The GT is a great card, almost as good as the Gtx, even at higher resolutions, unless benchmarks are astray.

Anandtech, a respected tech site has such benchmarks, take a look at the resolutions, and see the difference yourself.
