Which of these is better?

At a first glance I would assume the X2's better...but I cant get this thought out of the back of my mind that something about the Core 2 Duo architecture makes it better.

Stock the E6750 is faster and overclocks better than a X2 6000. A X2 6400 would be closer to a E6750 but the Intel stll overclocks better.

But the AMD is 3.0Ghz and has more L1 and L2 cache how can the intel be faster? Explain more please.

The Core 2 is faster clock for clock, plus the E6750 has 4mb of L2 and the AMD has 2mb. Amd is coming out with the Phenom in about a week to compete with the Core 2 clock for clock or it suppost to compete

The Core 2 does more work per clock cycle - clock for clock, Core 2 is significantly better.

Yes go with the Core 2 Duo it's a better choice.

core 2 duo is alot better then athlon, if you overclocked the amd 6000+ i dont think you will get to high and u can even get the e6300 1.8 to 3.0ghz stable core 2 duo faster cycle per clock and oc's really good with the right cooling

It doesn't have more L2.... The 6000+ is also 90nm and the E6750 is 65nm, that makes the Intel consume less power and making it cooler. The 6000+ has also had stability problems, with the stock voltage, etc.

Yeah , I 've got a friend who has the 6000 and hates it . He can't make it run stable.
