I was just wondering, is there any way that normal people can help law enforcement capture sexual predators who are showing live feeds, pics and videos of the children that there exploiting in chat rooms and such ?

Sort of like joining those twisted chat rooms and lurk around there and such and try and find them on your own and reporting them ?

Now I understand most of these people aren't complete idiots as they encrypt there ip adressed and such but they can be broken and can get you there locations and so on.

Is this somehow possible ?
 
trying to take the law into your own hands will get yourself in trouble... imagine saying "but officer, I was there to catch them, not be them". I don't think they'll believe anyone that says that.
If you want to help, contact law enforcement and ask them how you can help and they'll tell you the best way.
 
In the darknets of the interwebs there could be, among certain FTP sites that upload illegal content of all sorts. But to be honest, becoming a spy and lurking to catch these pedophiles? Not realistic, first of all these sites are not easily found, and most require an invite from a current member. Second of all, you wouldn't have the stomach. I've had the misfortune of seeing this crap, back when I trolled 4chan, it's absolutely disgusting, makes you nauseous, sick.

As for individual members IP addresses, How would you get them? They are logged by the site itself, but are they going to give them to you? Of course not. You can possibly, through an IRC channel, but that's muddy, and probably wouldn't work correctly. If you happen upon a site unlike a darknet, It's almost guaranteed the government knows of it, as they have divisions that track this stuff down.

I don't think there's anything you can do. Anything any of us can do.

Oh don't worry about me not being able to see that, ive seen way worse then that.

Yes there are a bunch of chatrooms and you can very easily find them through google as most pedos do.

Theres ways to do anything you wanna do and getting ahold of there ip CAN be done with a little searching and learning.

The problem compounds itself even more, If you do get ahold of the IP address, what will you do with it? You can not track someone down with their IP address, only the Users ISP can do that, and due to privacy laws, you can't get them to give that information to you. The government can, if they subpoena that ISP, but how are you going to get the government to do such? Reporting it won't do any good, even if they did believe you there's no proof, collect the proof, and our triggy-happy government might as well put you on the stand. Believe it or not, pedo's will make up excuses for having illegal files on the computer, the ol' I was taking the law into my own hands jig is by no doubt, overplayed.

I see you are trying to help, but your getting in over your head. The people who populate these extremely illegal sites are not to be messed with by a some kid, because operating right next to these CP darknets are murder and death. People pay to watch the molestation of children, People also pay to watch fetish death, and murder. Mutilation of themselves, and others. Things that you don't want to get involved in, in the very unlikely, no astronomical chance that you get into these sites, let alone find them.

Leave it to the professionals is my piece of advice, hell become one of these professionals when you're older, but now is most definitely not the time to try to be a hero.
