Hello, well Black Friday is coming up in a matter of days and I need to choose a laptop that I want to buy. I am looking for something reliable and faster then my 1.4 Pentium Celeron laptop that I have right now :) (lol). Here are a list of laptops that are going to be on sale this Black Friday, which one you think is the best one?

<> Compaq
15.4"
1Gb RAM
Intel Dual-Core T2310
80Gb HDD
DVD burn

<>Toshiba Satellite
15.4"
1Gb RAM
AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK-53
120Gb HDD
DVD burn

<>Sony
15.4"
1Gb RAM
Intel Dual-Core (doesn't say which one it is, but I am %99 sure its T2310)
120Gb HDD
DVD burn

<>HP Pavilion
14.1"
2Gb RAM
AMD Ahtlon 64 X2 TK-53
120Gb HDD
DVD burn

I think I might buy the HP Pavilion but I am not %100 sure because it is the most expensive one out of the four. Please tell what you think.
Thank you :)

My last laptop was toshiba and I never had HP, but I did own a PDA made by HP and it didn't give me any problems and was a very solid unit. But for some reason I am scared to buy a laptop by US manufacturer, but I guess I'll give HP laptop a try and see where it gets me. I will though get a 3year warranty with it (covers everything, screen too) just to be safe. :)

Since I have always never had major problems with hp or compaq, I would go with those. If the hp is more expensive, and has a smaller screen, I think it would be best to get the compaq, and double the ram and hdd.:)

i have quickly come to dispise toshiba (mainly because if their stupid integrated GPUs, but thats another rant).

i would advise you to research the processor speeds, as well as GPUs, and above all, stay away from impulse buys -- its far better to spend the extra on something you like then to be stuck with something you hate!! i cant reiterate that enough.
that said, im leaning towards the HP.

If he can only afford upto $700. There isn't a decent laptop with delicated GPU.
