well currently im running standard 350watt and i know its not healthy:D

i dont game so i dont need a power house...

this thing already uses so much electric its unreal, ive got a electric key meter in so i can see how much its sucking on my wallet.

++++lights nearly go dim downstairs when i switch it on lol++++

so i need something not overkill but healthy enough to power me beast

thanx

The Antec Earthwatts line of supplies comes in 380w, 430w, and 500w models. Since you are concerned about lights going dimm there you want to look over those with energy saving features like the recent addition to Antec's line. The 430w model seen at the link here would be adequate for the current build. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-086-AN&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=103

Even thou that one looks fance, i wouldn't recommend it, since is probably one of those kinda generic power supply brand, if you need a good power supply get this one or the corsair 450w

The link there is for an OCZ StealthXStream 600w model not a 450w Corsair.

The Earthwatts line is lower Seasonic series there. Antec is a well known brand name that was primarily Channel Well until more recently expanding their product line by going through some of the best companies in order to produce higher powered models like True Power 3 850w.

slap wrong post quoted, and read what i wrote, like this OR the corsair 450w i never said that link was to the corsair 450w.

Anyway antec units aren't bad but kinda overpriced on their low end models

I've heard that complaint often enough. But the idea is not too to go over what is needed for the basics there apparently where any lower powered supply but slightly more then 350w is the main idea.

Corsar models can get high on price higher then OCZ wattage wise lately while both are execellent choices. But the circumstance requires power conservation over something you put into a mid range to high end build. The 380w supplies out would be a little under the basics there where going 450w and up won't work. I should rephrase the 400-450 to more like 400-430w since 420w and 430w models are available by several companies.

Get a 500W PSU or something, make it a good brand, 70 dollar range.

funkysnair is not running a gaming system and is only looking to cover the basics to save on electricity used. The 380w-430w range with a model that has energy saving features is what is being sought there. Even 35 pounds is over $70US.

yeh-not just the energy saving part i really want the stability with a psu that could produce enough power to keep things going good.

not a psu that will be underpowering and cause extensive heat inside my case.

i know that the cpu is power hungry and generates alot of heat and i dont want a psu to add to it.

By your sig the 3.3ghz would be in error if you are not ocing there since the 6000+ X2 is a 3ghz model. At stock speeds with a good cpu cooler and plenty of air flow throughout the case you wouldn't see high cpu temps.

Having a case like the Antec 900 helps out here quite a bit with the 6000+ being powered by na OCZ GameXStream 700w supply plus 3 HDs and two optical drives. I plan to add in another 1tb sided sata drive to that later. If you want a supply upwards of 500w with energy saving included the Corsair HX520 would be one to allow for later expansion/upgrade of video card, etc. there.
