Building Computers, and Making $$$

As most people here know, it's cheaper to build a computer than to buy one from Dell, HP, Etc. I've found that many more people knew this than I once thought...but they still don't build their own because they're too busy, don't know how, etc. So I want build computers for people, and sell them (and obviously make a little $ too), but I want to know how exactly do get this whole thing started.

Where could I start...who could be my "target consumer [customer]? Is there any way at all that this could possibly work? I guy down the street from me used to build/sell them when he was my age...Anyways voice your opinions/suggestions..thanks.

P.S. Note that I live in a small town (around 12,000 people) so it's not like I'm in LA or NYC or some huge place where everyone is afraid/hates everyone else.

Sell your service at Cost + 20%. If you build a $1,000 rig, sell it for $1,200, for example. Offer a warranty on your labor.

Alright...those are pretty good ideas..keep em' coming haha. (but seriously, anyone else's input would be great)

Building computers is not a big money maker these days. Dell + HP do that now... For example, I wouldn't let someone else build my computer. $$$ comes from repair now a days :)

oscar is right. Building computers isn't a big business anymore. The money comes from repairing, maintaining, servicing, etc.

but then again, most big companies might have warranties that might do all that too for free.
