Agreed. I run an EVGA 8600 GTS (for the moment), and while I can almost max out the settings (except for antialiasing) at 1680x1050, my framerate is pretty crappy. However, I got a huge jump in fps when I turned off the automatic texture option and set everything manually. Don't know why that is.

My rig:
AMD Athlon X64 FX62 (2.8GHz, cooled by Zalman 9700LED)
2GB OCZ SLI Ready RAM @ 800 MHz
Asus M2N-E SLI Motherboard
EVGA 8600GTS w/ 256MB DDR3
Creative Soundblaster Audigy soundcard
WD Caviar Special Edition 200GB EIDE HD w/ 8MB cache
Ultra X3 1000W PSU
Windows XP Pro

My hard drive sucks; I know and accept this. Raptor arrives November 26th, along with Foxconn nForce 590i motherboard.

My 8800GT (on highest settings, res. @ 1024 X 768) does fine, but it runs at 85C!!! (There's no way that's good...) and that's AFTER I put in (hotglued in..) another fan blowing directly on it (which cooled it by 10C)

HEHE keep an eye on that as the glue might melt lmao

My 8600GTS runs at 79-81*c while gaming, and it's not a problem unless it goes over 90*c. Mine does run COD4 really well though.

Should be great :P

I've been told that my CPU is equivalent to a 2.6GHz... and it literally feels like it! And mines a Sempron... so yours should be great.

I know right! I used to have a Sempron 3200+ 1.8GHz before my current one and I was told by some test that it was worth like 3.2GHz... Is weird but it's all good! :D
