I'm planning on getting the Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 I'd like to know if this card could run, Halo, AOE III, and Madden 03-08.... and Sims 2... or if the other part GeForce FX 5200 could run thoose games also.. also is there another graphic card under 30.00 that could run those games.... thanks in advance
 
What resuloutions are you planning on using?

Im guessing you need a PCI video card?

I know that the AGP version of the 5500 can run AOE III, and all maddens(except 08) at the highest graphics.

Dont plan on playing halo with maxxed setting on a fx5200-5500. Maybe a 5900.


What is your system specs?
 
I'm talking about Halo 1 not 2... i don't like 2 like that... but no i want a AGP... i have a pci slot but it's not PCI-E and i doubt those PCI slots are for graphic cards....I only have an AGP slot.. and how about Sims 2??, or Roller Coaster Tycoon 3... I mean there is a list of games I want to play, because my 64 MB Integrated graphic card S3G SUCKS!!!!.... only old Win98 games it will play...
Do you want my PC's spec??
 
I would imagine if AOE III can be played on an fx5500 then Sims 2 could be as well. AOE III is a much more graphics intense game than Sims 2 is, I think you would be covered with Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 with that card as well.

grafics card under 30.00, i think there's your answer :)

edit: cant you get a 6200 256Mb card for $30.00 (assuming youre in the usa) because that one is faster then the 5200/5500
 
O no... not turbocache... I don't like that invention, because for one my computer has only 512mb ram... and i don't think i want to share it with the garphic card... but i live in the USA... matter fact i live in the worst part of USA... South Florida, Broward County, City of Sunrise, sawgrass mills mall is right down the street, but everything down here is extremely expensive, but i'm sticking with the 30$ budget, and AGP slot card...

Turbocache takes off depending how much RAM you have, not like 512MB on each computer...

Anyways, the card can't even use that much. If the 8800GTS uses 320MB... I doubt any card lower than that needs more than 256.

8800GTS also comes in 640mb versions :P
 
all i know is my 7300gs is turbocached. and it says in the box that turbocaching works only if you have a gig of RAM.

not turbocached = 256mb
turbocached = 512mb
