My computer spec

I'll look into the cases.
Are the rams any faster than the one i have?
I'm desperate for parts so i hate to wait
I plan on adding more RAM in the future

Ah. Then make sure you have a 64it O/S.

32bit O/S = 3.25GB MAX

64bit O/S = 128GB MAX

More than 4GB (with a 64bit O/S of course...) I'd go for the P35-DS3L

Look at the latencies. It should be 4 or 5. The $38 ones are 5. Lower the better :)

I never buy based on rebates. It has been my experience that rebates are just bait to get you to buy, then they never come thru.

Very true. However, I've read a review on Newegg that said that the manufacturer did not accept the rebate, so they complained to Newegg. Next day, Newegg gives him rebate. I think we can trust Newegg on this :P

This is my most current build. Tell me what you think about it and what to change.

its a very nice setup, and even too. the only suggestion i can make is you COULD lower the CPU and just overclock it, and get the 3870, which is a far better card (512MB is needed for the new games, 256 doesnt cut it)

I have no idea how to overclock and there are risks.

3870 isnt in stock should i wait? or just get the 3850
(im using newegg only)

also should i get 2 more gigs of ram and vista 64 bit home premium

2gb is enough, and i would get 64bit home premium. 32bit won't support 4gb of memory if you ever upgrade, 64 does. But if you got the money, go ahead and get another 2gb

you need more than you would if it was XP, but 2gb is plenty for vista... but like i said if you have the money, then go ahead and get 4gb while your at it :)

but yes 2gb is the "norm" for it right now, its enough.

I would get 2 more GB if you had some extra $$$...

How much time can you wait?

Overclocking is fairly simple, as long as you don't go crazy with the voltages and stuff.

I dont really get what you mean
"32bit O/S = 3.25GB MAX

64bit O/S = 128GB MAX"

RAM limitations based on 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit technologies. The way a 32-bit system is laid out, you can have a total of 4 Gigs *total* system usage. Now, keep in mind that your chipsets, PCI slots, AGP/PCIe slots, etc. all count towards the total 4 Gigs. After all the needs of the system are satisfied, the computer then tells the RAM controller that it can use whatever is left.

If you have 1, 2, or 3, Gigs of RAM, it's not a problem because you won't use more than 1 Gig to run all the other resources the system needs. However, if you have 4 Gigs of RAM, the RAM controller will only recognize around 3.25-ish of it, since the system already took the resources it needed to run the above-mentioned items.

64-bit uses slightly different technology, so the 4-gig barrier is not an issue. As far as the two are concerned, there are many debates over what is better now, keyword being *now*. 64-bit will be the future, but at this point, virtually everything is catered to 32-bit. I don't want to turn this Thread into a debate, but just do a Forum Search for 64-bit and see how many debate Thread results show up. If higher memory is your only reason to go with 64-bit, it's not worth it. Unless some really cool Star Trek computer stuff happens with the industry, it will be a loooooong time before the average Home Users need anything even remotely close to 128 Gigs, hell even 8 Gigs.

This is my final build. Please share your suggestions.
