Im going to say this right off the bat, my internet is not fast because i live in the middle of the woods in farm country... so its supposed to be 512kb but we'er lucky if we get 300kb. anyways, i have a linksys Wireless-B (i know out of date but w/e! XD ) router.
HERE IS MY PROBLEM: my stepbrother has a laptop and uses the wireless internet from the router. The PC is wired to the router. For some reason, the wireless internet for the laptops is much better than the wired internet for the PC. The laptop gets much faster web browsing speeds, faster downloads, and better pings on WoW (usualy 200-300). The PC (which is wired) is slow to browse the web, gets only about 2/3 the download speed, and the ping on WoW is higher (usually 450-550)
I figured that a wired connection would be faster and more stable than wireless. Now i know some of you are thinking "its the computer thats slowing it down". well that is possible but the specs of the laptop and PC are pretty similar. same ram, same kind of vid card, only difference is the processor. so i really dont know what the problem is. i've even uninstalled all i could on the PC, run an anti-spyware, anti-virus, and defragged. nothing has helped.
so if any of you have any idea what the problem is , let me know. my two thoughts are:
1- its the router
2- the computer needs a complete wipe and start it over like new
Let me know what u think! thanks!!!
