Yeah, Intel is way ahead of AMD right now...unfortunately

The only reason to go with AMD is if you already have the motherboard..

Lol, UBER SUPER deal? You kidding me! That's... such a rip I can't even express it! 1.2k and not even 4GB? And still onboard sound? ONLY 500GB? Not a Ultra?

uh yes? I tried making the build myself on new egg and it came out to the same price. Plus I would'nt trust myself the first time making the system by myself so cyber power had it for cheap. its 7.1 onboard and i only need 500gb and an Ultra? thats 700$ . I could'nt possible waste money like that.

lol telling us it was only $700 after rebates could have been important.

And don't use the word "idiot", particularly if you came to ask for help in the first place. The mods will send lightning bolts. While it's not an absolutely amazing rig, it'll be a night-and-day difference if your current rig has been around for a few years.

sorry I just got a little fustrated because nobody actually attempted to help me. They rather gave me an answer that really didn't help me.

I was saying the 8800Ultra alone is $800 and the reason I was saying it was a uber deal was because it is realtively cheap compared to similar systems from any other company ( Dell is a ripoff with a mysterious $1000 added to any gaming rig)

The rig I posted is $1350 with shipping and tax ( rebates not included).

Well, back to the original question, i think you should go with an X4 quad core, because you will see better all-around performance than you would with an X2. this will also allow more potential for upgrade in the future. (as the market is heading toward quads)

Ahha.. 8800Ultra is $500 *ahem*

Intel gives you MUCH better deals. No I ain't a Intel fan (check my sig :D)...

Just saying right now for the cash, Intel gives you better performance for the $$$...

Unless you're out to waste money...
