Great game. The idea of the game is so simple, but brilliant.

Your a test subject for "aperture labs", a competitor of Black Mesa. Your guided by a computer woman named GlaDOS, who makes such funny comments throughout the game. Instead of thinking in a linear manner to solve problems, you use the portals to create a unique solution. This game forces you to think.

I don't say this very often, but Portal is a fantastic game. It's short so it doesn't drag on, has great humour and interesting puzzles.
 
Is it not multiplayer?

lol i would get so confused about where i was falling out.

So is the whole thing like a big tutorial, or do you actually play levels after the tutorial is over?

It's like MatrixEVO explained. You're a test subject using this portal gun to navigate your way through Aperture Labs test facility levels. The first like 2 levels give you the jist of how to use the gun to your advantage and from there you have to figure out how to utilize your portal gun to make it to the next level of the facility until the end when... Well I can't very well spoil the game for you :D
