Firewall !! ??

Hey....just reinstalled my Windows XP and downloaded limewire and cannot connect to it due to a firewall that it says i am behind....how do i take down the firewall...at least temporarily...where do i look for that?

when i go to control panel i cannot find the "security center" option u speak of....are you sure you are talking about XP....could it be under something else?

any ideas?
 
Try Start > Control Panel > Network connections.

Once that is open, find the connection you use to connect to the internet and right click it. Click properties then go to the advanced tab. Uncheck the checkbox that protects your computer. This could make your computer more vulnerable to malicious attacks and spyware, however, so do this at your own risk.

You may not see if if you don't have the control panel set to classic view, or if you dont have SP2 installed.

Yes that way will also work.
